I should also mention that you will need a pretty modern graphics card to get this to work even in 2D. You need a dual link DVI card due to the unfeasable resolution of this thing.

If you want to play £D games you will be looking at a monster PC with probbly SLI 8800GTX cards to get the very latest games going at full resolution.

£550 for a monitor with a 30 day warranty! Hmm, I'll pass on that as i'm not a gambler. It's an interesting proposition though and thanks for the post.
A dual link DVI card can be had for about £22 if you use Ebuyer and Google Checkout.

I know what you mean about it being a gamble smilingcrow but u will be missing out on 2560x1600 pixels of heavenly goodness. Thats almost 4 million pixels, way beyond most other monitors. Tis a think of modern wonderment :-)

i'm amazed that u can get a dual link dvi card for just 22 quid as well, happy days indeed.

what was the condition like?

these can be had from dell for £920 brand new with 3 yr warranty so a decent saving, but pretty risky considering they charge a 20% re-stocking fee if things go bad

Hi Cells,

Mine came in a dell 3007WFP-HC box and as far as i can tell it looks brand new. Not a mark on it and no dead pixels as far as i can tell.

It did say grade A on the box so i'm sure it is a refurb but if they had stuck it in a box and told me it was new i really couldn't have told the difference.

i agree about the 8800gtc or maybe even 2 being needed for the very latest games. Its a total monster. I laughed out loud when i took it out of the box and got it up and running, tis trully spectacular. I have a dell 2405 as well and when i do a remote desktop the 2405 screen sits easily on the 3007 screen with loads of room to spare.

totally mega, cant beieve i just said that but it is 2am :-)

So after thirty days, if there's any problem with the monitor, it can't be fixed?

A lot of credit card providers provide an additional 1yr warranty on expensive electrical goods, probably something to do with Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. That should allay the fears of those who want the warranty.

hi minyee,

I guess you could pay to have it repaired if it where to go faulty.

Hi Jonney T,

Thats an interesting idea. I wonder if it applies in this case.
