Incedentally - I just used my £15 voucher to pre-order Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix. It takes £15 before VAT is added to the total - making the total just £12.35

surely if it takes £15 off before VAT is added then it takes more than £15 off ? i.e. £15 + £2.65 ??

Or are you saying it takes £12.35 off the before VAT figure, i.e. it is taking £14.51 off the including VAT price .... ??

You don't get £15 for just applying. You get £15 after first purchase.

That's not right.
I got £15 for an approved application (see bitmap in my previous post) that appeared during the checkout.
I've only applied for the card today so I'm using a different card for this purchase.

I've just had a look at this, and the way the T&Cs of this offer read, it seems to me that you either get the £15 off instantly, but have to make a purchase on your new Amazon card within 90 days to retain it, or you get the other offer, which is a £15 promotional gift certificate, which you get after you've made your first purchase on your new credit card. It doesn't seem to me that you get both.

You could be right - I'll let you know what happens when I get the card. Meantime the email from Amazon reads:

:
Dear Amazon.co.uk MasterCard Customer

Congratulations! Your application for the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard has been
approved by Halifax plc and a £15 credit has been applied to your
Amazon.co.uk account for you to spend on your next purchase.

Please remember to complete, sign and return the paperwork that will be
sent to you within the next few days from Halifax plc. On receipt of the
paperwork by Halifax plc, you will be sent the Amazon.co.uk MasterCard
within 10 business days. You will then be able to start taking advantage
of the great rates and great loyalty programme detailed at
www.amazon.co.uk/mastercard.

In accordance with the terms & conditions of the £15 Credit Promotion, if
you do not return the paperwork, activate and make a retail purchase on
your Amazon.co.uk MasterCard within 90 days of receipt of this e-mail, the
£15 credit will be debited from the default payment card associated with
your Amazon.co.uk account or, if unused, removed from your Amazon.co.uk
account. Visit
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cobrandca...onditions.html for the
full terms & conditions.

I've had my form back from Amazon which I've signed and am sending back today - so no updates - probably later this week I'll find something out.

I don't suppose anyone knows whether this £15 credit could be used angainst a couple of boxsets that are in the buy 2 get £5 off offer? In the T&Cs it implies that it can't eb used with other promotions, so I'm presuming not, but just wondered if anyone knows for sure?
