Rimless glasses with thin lenses for £78.75 (incl. delivery) from glassesdirect.

£78.75

-51°

FOUND BY: williegofar 2 years, 4 months ago

Ive bought from glassesdirect once, and I was very happy with the service. I was aware that they did rimless specs for £75 but when I looked at their site today I noticed that they now include thin lenses in the price.

6 different styles available.

I think that this is a good price. (delivery is £3.75).

People are presumably voting this cold because they can get these cheaper elsewhere. I'd be grateful if you could tell me where, I had been intending to buy these!

I just bought a pair of rimless glasses with tint for a little over £10 delivered from goggles4u after a recommendation on here. So this is a tad expensive, although no-doubt cheaper than on the high-street.

That is a bit different as thinning often costs hundreds.

For example, rimless are useless for the OH as their prescription is -7.5 in each eye, so you're talking very very thick lens.

I can completely understand that... but the OPs post states free thin lenses, closer inspection of the site reveals "free thin polycarbonate lenses" ... these lenses are the same refractive index as the standard lenses, although lighter weight. So a little better if you need light weight glasses but not thinner.

Also, the 'thinner' lenses (1.61) work out at £21 and thinnest (1.67) £28 delivered from goggles4u... hardly hundreds.

I must admit that I am a little confused about which site is actually offering the best deal. Are you saying that google4u are actually more expensive?

Sorry for being confusing, I was just trying to clarify that even with the 'extra super thin' lenses goggles4u are still cheaper...

You can get rimless from £42 with selectspecs with the 1.6 index lenses with free UV 400 and anti-reflective coatings - that's saving another £30 than the equivalent glassesdirect price.

I think the thinnest plastic lenses are 1.74, not 1.67. That can make a lot of difference on the price, and not many places seem to do them.

I have some of these - got free thin lenses, not as thin as 1.6 but fine for me & my gasses are normally quite thick - therefore they only cost £22 and some pennies delivered.
