Not as good as the £175 return fares to New York that we got in the sale last year. But that's because this ticket price now includes Gordon Brown's £80 (yes, that EIGHTY POUNDS) departure tax. In that context a return to New York for £239 has to be seen as an absolute bargain.

No, it's all included. You are probably thinking back to when they first raised the taxes - people who had already paid for their flights were having to pay the new tax at the airport before they flew.
Now, the prices include all of it.

i can't find any for that price to new york, they are all single flights so two fares and they add taxes as well.... and yes i registered and logged in and chose the right dates, the fares have the "d" next to them but all are single fares, no return flights

If your desperate, Virgin Atlantic are offering flights to New York at the same time for £238. Also go through Quidco for a huge 1% cashback
