Wii Power Station (charging cradle and 2 recharge packs for the wiimote) £15.89

£15.89

35°

FOUND BY: smashed 2 years, 4 months ago

Sendit have a mini sale on their Wii products.
This looks really handy to me. It works just like you how you charge your cordless house phones. You just leave your Wiimotes in the docking station when not in use and they will be charged for when you play them.
Personally, I have found that batteries drain quite quickly on these.

I also bought the official component cable for £14.89

After researching, you can also get a Nyko 1. Anybody advise which is better. Nobody on AVForums has had a problem with them, tho a couple of people on Amazon reckoned that it totally broke their Wiimotes, (not sure how).
Cold? Let me know why please..so I can cancel my order if needs be

Good price does it come with any rechargable batteries or do I have to fork out for them on top?

It comes with the batteries for 2 Wiimotes
You can get it from a number of places for under £20, but this was the cheapest that I found.

Nyko also do a model which has just come out. The stories of the Joytech version breaking your Wiimote sound a little worrying, but I am sure that they would have been recalled if they were doing that much damage. So I reckon they are fine.

If anybody has experience of either , please post.

For me, its better than buying rechargeable AA's as you have to fiddle about. With this, you dont have to worry.

It shows how overpriced the 360 charge stuff is :(

If it comes with 4 x AA rechargable batteries it's a bargain! I will wait for input on the breaking the remote thing, remotes are £25 a pop so don't want them breaking on me

It doesnt come with standard AA#'s I dont think. I believe it comes it is designed to just fit the Wii. However, thats not a problem unless you wished to take them out of the Wii and then use them elsewhere, defeating the purpose of the whole "no need to worry about Wii batteries dying" symptom, which is why I want this

Also, this charges via USB into the Wii.

The Nyko version charges from a power plug. The backing to it is rubber, so better for grip. You can pick this up for £18 if you shop around. They seem to get good reviews.

No I wouldn't want to take them out for anything else just the wii remote. Will it charge when the wii is on standby? As I don't have enough plugs anyway

The reviews on play suggest that its a good product.
I believe that the Wii is on permanent standby, which means that they will charge.
My Wii is always hot, even when not on, so I have resorted to pulling out the power lead. So perhaps I am better off with the Nyko

Well depends on power consumption. I believe the Wii only take 6W an hour on standby compared to the plug I'm not sure.

We've got one of these already and I can confirm that it works well. The nunchuck holders on the sides spoil the look IMO so we cut the ones off ours and it looks much nicer.

Well thats 2 of us. Also ordered the Joytech 540C (which people have had problems getting Wii to work with), and the component leads, so its been an expensive weekend for Wii.

I think it will be good

Cheers for the feedback
The nyko doesnt have the side bits but then it has rubber backing to the Wiimote.
Already ordered the Joytech anyway

I bought one a USB charge thing from game, and I think its broke my Wiimote. I havent had time to fully check it yet, as I just used a different one

But no blue lights blink when I press a button, but the blue light on the charging cradle flashes telling me its fully charged.

Will try some tests when I have the time.

Just thought Id post, maybe be relevant to to the stories you hear somewhow
