EXPIRED - HUKD hits 50,000 members!
Woohoo :) Here's a big welcome to HotUKDeal's 50,000th member James123! Nice to see he's already been posting some useful stuff ;)
The big thanks goes out not to just James123 because really he is only member number 50,000 because there was a 49999 and a 35786 and 763 and 9997 and ok you get the idea :D The thing is that we're only here at number 50,000 because of everyone else on this site so a big welcome to everyone and an even bigger wow at the three quarters of a million posts made on this board from every member 1 to 50,000
As we keep growing we will keep hitting new challenges that come with being a big community; part of this will be technical and software based (which is the big goal for the next version of the site) but part of it will also be that the dynamics of the community will change as more members join and start becoming active members.
Any growth always introduces friction as the group dynamics change but I just want to reiterate something which I've said many times before - the more of us the stronger we are and the better deals we find. Having 50,000 eyeballs (well 100k really!) scanning the shops and sites and streets of the UK means we are not only going to find more bargains and clever deals but also that we are going to have a massive resource of knowledge and tips to tap into. A lot of getting a deal isn't just a low price, it is about the value and that is something where we need all the expert and inside knowledge we can get!
So here's a big thanks to all the members who have come to HUKD to make it the place it is today. I really believe that we are doing something really big here - we are changing the way consumers and merchants interact and the way power is handled in the consumer space. In this community we, the consumer, are in control and it is the merchant that has to ensure fair pricing and fair treatment of its customers. It is deal anarchy in a good way - in the way that we can reject the control of media and advertised "deals" by coming together in a cooperative and honest way to recommend the best real deals and bargains to the community.
That all starts to sound a bit flaky so let's just say, hurrah for a big member milestone and let's get our noses back into sniffing out the best deals out there :)
p.s. and yes I know it's not a deal but it's a little exception for once every few years ;)

Oh my god, the OP forgot to add a price to this deal....... i want to buy a bargains forum with 50,000 members
Although this isn't a deal, i've always felt forums are great for the same reasons as the admin, as the more members are around, the more expert opinions we'll have and the greater knowledge we'll all have, that's on top of the great prices we find as well. :D Congrats to the admin on his forum, i know it must of been hard to get his site recognised and be able to keep 1000's of people checking all over the site on a daily basis. |
