Yep sounds good to me too, to collect the HDD in store today. While if you order through ebuyer you have to wait five days.

For information: This model does not have a on-off switch. I know some people prefer to be able to turn them on and off without resorting to unplugging from the mains.

Regards reliability I have been running 2 of the older models for over 12 months (1 200gb and 1 300gb), 24 hours a day as network media drives, they have run like a dream,

I would have been running down to PC World today for a couple of these if it was not for the fact that I picked up the New Big Brother Maxtor 1500gb (2 750gb drives in a case) for $350 (£170 ish) in the US last week whilst I was working in San Diego. At the current exchange rate I could not refuse

Shouldn't need an on/off switch as should be running 24/7

Why should it be running 24/7?

I switch my PC off when not using it so why would I want my HD running 24/7 ?

On a seperate note I wouldn't let you pay me to trust my data on a maxtor after their RTB fobbed me off with a deep format that just covered the fact my hard drive was dying. It then went out of it's poxy 1yr year warranty compared to my now all Seagate system 5yr warranty.

voted cold.

I'm never buying a maxtor product again after my very first external hard drive died after one year of LIGHT USE.

My toshiba and western digital externals get comparatively heavy usage and have been fine after longer use.

Lost a lot of data, wasn't happy - get a better brand fullstop
