Also note this is available for the same price at Amazon (including free super saver delivery): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Oral-B-Vital...8330187&sr=8-5

I had a chuckle at the reviews on Amazon!
People obviously don't understand the technology difference between a regular electric toothbrush with a moving head and a sonic electric toothbrush. Some people don't understand that a head that hardly appears to be moving can clean teeth - that's what sonic is all about.

I've had both and personally I prefer a sonic toothbrush, and as I understand it, a sonic toothbrush is far better for cleaning teeth.

It may be worth noting that this is a "no-frills" toothbrush. I.e. no timer :D But it is sonic!

Some information on Sonic toothbrushes, though it's aimed at the Phillips Sonicare brand: http://www.animated-teeth.com/electr...s.htm#page.top

Reading through this and the other pages suggest that a sonic toothbrush is more effective than a regular electric toothbrush.

I must point out that I am not a dentist :-p

It seems to me electric toothbrushes are becoming like printers - dirt cheap to start with, but the consumables are very expensive.

At least one Reviewer seems to know what he is talking about though...

"I found this toothbrush okish, my girlfriend has the proper Braun sonic costing more and I thought I was going to get the same performance since there is no mention of the vitality model being a 'lesser' model sonically, however it is considerably less powerful than the 'complete' model and I feel conned to a degree. This is maybe only just better than a manual toothbrush. "

I have the Complete model that the reviewer had tried and it produces comparable results to the Professional brushes with the round heads. He seems to be saying the Vitality range is a lesser model prducing lesser results. Mine was £30 at the time and seemingly well worth the extra where you teeth are concerned. Tesco Direct have the brush head at 2 for £2.47 http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-3248.aspx which is a real bargain....or part number 100-3248 if the link doesn't work.

The Toothbrush i have now is http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/4427751.htm

Would the vitality one be much better, or would it be worth getting the complete one?

Thanks
