these are just out of date, I'm not sure but I dont think chocolates go off very quickly so they should be fine, delivery is £4.95 I think? for any amount so good if you want to order a few!

A 1Kg tin of the best loved Cadburys Roses Chocolates. (Best Before End: August 2007).

Pretty sure that Tesco's have this size tin on offer from today (as the Christmas stock starts to appear on the shelves!) at 2 for £9.

Should be in store and online as well. They had about 6 different sizes/varieties to choose from.

I thought it wasn't a bad deal, made even better by this post.

Couldn't you get 5 and it'd work out at £3.98 each? Or 10 and it'd be £3.49 each? Doesn't seem that bad a deal to me. Maybe I'm just hungry.

You could but you'd have to eat fast, they're already 11 days past the sell by date

Just realised why they're out of date!

It takes a month to view a page on Halfcost, another month to view the item details, another month to place an item in the basket, another month to................................................ ......

theres a difference between 'sell by' and 'use by'...although i would have thought that 'best before' is a use by date!

http://www.eatwell.gov.uk/asksam/foo...abellingrules/
"it's illegal for shops to sell food after its 'use by' date."

oh, just saw this on the same page:

"You will see 'Best before' dates on foods that last longer, such as frozen, dried or tinned foods. Shops are allowed to sell foods after their 'Best before' date (except eggs) and they will probably still be safe to eat."

(i've taken the liberty to highlight the key word for me there!)

Best before refers to the quality, the chocolates might not taste as nice (but probably will). The shops are ok to sell providing they are identified as out of date and reduced accordingly.

I am not going for this offer, but have to say that most people will have boxes of chocolates in their house that are past their best before date and will eat them without realising, so as long as these are eaten soon I dont see that there will be any difference in quality.
