Managed to get the only one available out of 10 stores (4 of the extras) around here. Just as I was looking for a new vacuum. Thanks for the post, heat and rep added.

voted cold dyson is a big con great marketing tho think about it tho u can see the dust it picks up couldnt do that with a bag
i paid 278 quid a few years ago for a dyson was garbage never really done the job
bought a henry hoover a few months ago wish i had found that wee guy sooner why you think offices etc use henry's not dysons???
because they are better
I couldn't disagree more based on my (unfortunately considerable) experiences but hey, everyones allowed their opinions.
I used a DC03 immediately after having vacuumed a carpet (as it had been for months) by a Henry. It filled the 'chamber' almost totally full with dust, dirt and who knows what (not carpet although they can munch cheaper ones). It was frankly, gross. My carpet has a normal pile, that is however considerably more than standard hard wearing office floor carpet tiles and so in my house based on that evidence a Henry isn't up to the job. A vacuum that doesn't pick much up is a waste of my time and electricity, no matter how long it might last for (that is before I replace it with something that does a better job!).
