Managed to get the only one available out of 10 stores (4 of the extras) around here. Just as I was looking for a new vacuum. Thanks for the post, heat and rep added.

I couldn't disagree more based on my (unfortunately considerable) experiences but hey, everyones allowed their opinions.

I used a DC03 immediately after having vacuumed a carpet (as it had been for months) by a Henry. It filled the 'chamber' almost totally full with dust, dirt and who knows what (not carpet although they can munch cheaper ones). It was frankly, gross. My carpet has a normal pile, that is however considerably more than standard hard wearing office floor carpet tiles and so in my house based on that evidence a Henry isn't up to the job. A vacuum that doesn't pick much up is a waste of my time and electricity, no matter how long it might last for (that is before I replace it with something that does a better job!).

I agree with jamstaruk

Family and relative households are fans of the "Henry" which can cost £50 on deals, we buy the bags in bulk so cheap, powerful, they can last for 2 decades which I doubt most bagless vacuum cleaners can.

The vote is not about if you like/dislike the product, it is for the DEAL.

Voted hot for the HOT deal.

Fantastic deal, but here's a thought -
If your local Argos has stock - go to your local comet instead.
They have a price match policy where by they match the price and then reduce it by 10% of the difference.
It must be a retailer whin a 10mile radius and be in stock.

Currently the instore price of this model is showing as £359.95.
Thus they will match £178.99 then less 10% of the difference which is £18, total to pay £160.99.

Voted hot, brill deal, I have the DC14 animal but not the ball version and I have to say it's fantastic.

I haven't an animal by the way, just a 15 year old daughter with very long hair!!

Personal opinion, bearing no relevence on whether this is a hot deal or not. You say that you paid £278, so by your own admission £178 must be a scorching hot deal?
I've never had any problems with my DC01. All you have to do is to replace the filters every so often.

top tip, find someone who works at Dyson and get a B spec (No different) picked up from the factory in Malmsbury for £80. and thats the Animal one too. And before anyone says, yes I know they don't make them in the UK anymore though they do ship them into the UK through their head office in Malmsbury so they have plenty :-)

It would be a good time to use price match policies would it not? "We'll beat it by 10% of the difference" An extra £17 off.
