I had 2 parcels this morning from them and they both still had 'led flashlight' on them.

Only ordered last monday so it must be a new thing.

Can't remember exactly but it's quite a sting in the tail nowdays.

Will have to shift to the other Hong Kong sites if it becomes a pain. :-(

They often parcel stuff together when sending - which is why if I want a few items, I wait until they have sent the first lot off before continuing with the rest.

Its not so much the customs sting (if there is little value) but the post office "tip" of £10 to collect the fee! Daylight robbery - but then this is the UK - and what seems to be ok these days.

Damn. Does anyone know the % you'd have to pay if customs catch that it's over the threshhold?

I think it varies by type of goods, but as an example a few wks ago I received order from Disney Store.I spent £170 ish and I had £44 to pay at door by cheque for my delivery. So basically expect about 25%.

threshold is (or was) £18 before you get hit by customs

just ordered a few torches (seperate orders) so i reckon il be ok.

there is an option on the website, its a product/service that you can select and you can make it so there is no writing on the outside of the parcel, so ideal if you are sending a gift straight to someone. - cant find it on the site though, i saw someone post a link to it.

That's drop shipping - it just means it's not supposed to say dealextreme on the box etc. It should still have a customs label on.

I had a delivery on Saturday (r4) - That said "Nintendo DS" on the description but had a ok value listed. That was sent on 1/11

It is because they got into trouble lately for selling things like pepper spray to countries like ours where it is not legal.

They will be declaring the true contents to appease customs.

They just used to do it to save time. All my last ones had led light HK35 and dated 20 Aug.
The problem comes when customs open things and the items not what it says on the shipping info so why would you believe that the price is correct too.
To be honest they have got away withit for along time.

I have an N8 mobile phone on order so hope the put something sensible on it like mobile phone accessories with $250HK. But will have to wait and see.
