Jump to unread Post a CommentOh and never ever go without a bouyancy aid. May be obvious to most, but you don't want to be stranded with a broken kayak and having to tread water in the sea.
You've probably thought of this too, but put all your equipment in waterproof bags/ containers.
I would seriously suggest you ask the coastguard for some local advice before arranging this trip.
(And they will need to know where to look if they need to rescue you.)
Might be easier to ferry accross to Isle of Wright and attempt it from that side.
River and estuary currents are very different from those found in the open ocean, definatley wear a lifejacket...
Can't think of much else other than lifejacket obviously.
