people who lose weight extremely rapidly will usually gain it back extremely rapidly when they stop the hardcore dieting. What's wrong with a balanced diet where you can eat everything but without gorging to excess and doing some exercise. That way it becomes a lifestyle choice that can be maintained and you can reap the rewards that the exercise will bring to life in general not just the burning of calories.

It's not the soup what's losing you weight it cutting out all the other stuff.... Which any one could lose weight cutting all that out.... If the thought of the soup helps you go for it

Diets are stupid because you will never keep it up, better to change your diet by buying Italian, Japanese, indian cook books etc and sticking to the wide range of meals in them.

"However, if eaten alone for indefinite periods, you would suffer from malnutrition."

Diets are pointless and unhealthy. If you want to lose weight then you have to change your lifestyle. Eat a more varied diet and exercise more and don't starve yourself with fad diet things like this. "Fat burning" lol. Makes me cringe when I hear that. Want to burn fat? Then get off your lazy **** and go for a jog!

Oh a walk you shouldn't suddenly start doing things you're not accustomed to.

Eat less crap, move lots more, and do it for the rest of your life.

'Diets' are pointless. Everyone is on a 'diet'. Its just that the diets fat people are on are worse than healthy weight people. Its absurd that big companies make millions from lardy idiots when its so simple. Food is fuel. If you don't burn the fuel, it gets stored. So either burn the fuel or take in less.

After a few bowls of that soup, I reckon you'd be able to power Felix Baumgartners next record attempt X)

exercise is the real weight loser, sugar is the gainer.

Excess sugar prevents your body from burning fat cells, get your heart beating fast so you can feel it once a day for at least 15 minutes. its all it really takes.

You need to burn 3500 calories to burn 1lb of fat. The average person needs say 2200 a day. You would therefore lose 4lb of fat in 7 days if you had no food all week. Losing extra is either dehydration or just no weight in your body from food going through your system.
You could burn more by exercising but it will take 5-7hrs approx of running, cycling to lose 1lb.

17lb in one week? Very naive :-(

Loosing weight is 70% good diet and 30% exercise in my opinion. These silly diets are just pointless.
