Someone from my daughter's school went as Rapunzel. She had a princess dress on and then had a long plait made out of wool that was tied around her ponytail and reached down to the ground, it looked really good and immediately you knew who she was supposed to be. If she hasn't got enough hair to attach the plait to, try making a cone hat and attaching it to the point of that like they had in the olden days.

I suppose nowadays you can get away with these because ALL successful TV characters/programmes are made into a book of some kind so any fancy dress outfit will probably work.

Yeh, i know it's just a fun day to raise money really, it's just i do get stressed out, i know i shouldn't 'cos the kids are never bothered. Schools eh? I don't think they realise the stress that they put us parents under, don't even get me started on homework!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean, sorry to change the thread, but my daughter started Junior school in September and on a Monday she now gets a book to read, sheet of spellings, times table to learn, numeracy homework (about ½hr) and literacy homework (about ½hr) to be done by the Friday. She's coping OK but has dancing 2 nights out of the 4 to get it done and I just think she's too young. If you ask me, I don't think they should get homework at all as they just go on the internet to get the answers, or get help from their parents which disadvantages children who's parents aren't so clever. Keep schoolwork at school and at home let them be kids, even at secondary school.
