I loved the trench warfare in episode 2 or 3.

Really captured the chaos of human conflict, never seen so much flying mud!

yeh, i'm not too good with gory bits, half-eyed watching i'm afraid, but it was good

there's a scene that always gets me. A guy gets shelled whilst inside a building, all the other members of his squad get out of the building in time - their thinking everyones ok.

The guys all look across to see the solitary figure of one of their brother's staggering out of the battered buildings doorway, his body ripped to shreds, limbs off dripping blood everywhere.

All his pals can do is tell him he will be ok as they watch him dying in front of them.

(Bastogne and the episode after that 6&7?) are amazing. - but terrible.

There's a harrowing death camp episode too(you might of meant that in one of the above)

Love how all 10 episodes are taken from a different viewpoint, with Lt.Winter's being the central character/focal point, Damien Lewis is just fantastic in that role.

might be it, it's that small town that gets literally blown to pieces, tank turrets tearing through the sides of some of the buildings.

One tank shell blows the corner off one of the buildings, how the hell did they capture it all.
