The girlfriend is the one that you need to keep smiling! :whistling: Have a word in your mates 'shell like' ear and ..... Like Alfonso said! Curry and beers all round!

LOL.

Your other half is sooooo not gonna be happy with you!

he doesn't need any more curries :whistling: and the table is booked for so many, no booking for the harvester

Hmmmmm?

Could be some clever negotiation skills needed Dude!

Could you compromise and eat with your girlfriend then join up with your mates after the meal?
#5
I personally would stick to family!! Your mates should understand that family comes first!

Would you trade you GF for ur mates is the question you shold be asking yourself!
#6
ur in the dog house either way, even if u go to her dads thing, no doubt shell say "well i know ud rather not b here etc"......all women do this its built into them...why not try and get a compromise and say that if u rep her dads thing, ur allowed to go out with ur mates 1 time with no notice, or maybe have em over for a poker night or whatever u all like doing together.
#7
Go with your mates. Why should your girlfriend tell you what to do? Grow some balls, and do what you want to do. Sounds like you want to go out with your mates, and if you don't see him very often do that!

out of respect you should go to her dads do. If it was more notice ok-but you are hardly being fair dumping her now. Thats how i would see it. Is there a compromise to go to dads meal then off with your mates?

Lifes too short to eat rubbish food. Go for a curry, eat like a King!

I'm more looking forward to the curry than frozen microwaved pees. Too many balanced views ;-)

sit her down and talk to her then...ask her would she mind really? as if she does you wont go? if it was me i would let you go..just cos you asked not told me:)
#12
are you happy in this relationship?
#13
I think many womens initial reaction is to go off on one because of dissapointment! Once she's calmed down, it might be worth asking her if she can come up with a better plan? Can you think of a situation to put her in your position? SOmeone she hasn't seen in a while?

Definately remain calm - no good shouting / arguing as that will make things worse.

It's a difficult situation - good luck
#14
Tell your g/f that you've been around lame pr0n viewing weirdo's at work and need to recharge the testosterone batteries with a lads night. Its her dads birthday not yours, yeah it would be nice to go but who the *@%$ wants nice?

Anywho wait till she wants a girlfriends night out and kick off
#15
Why can't you just tell your girlfriend the truth.. if my partner was in this situation I would tell him to go to the curry night and have a laugh with his mates - especially if he doesn't do it often.. I certainly wouldn't make him suffer and/or get upset about it.

Friends are as important as family, be happy and go for that curry!

Bro's before hoe's

Dump her. Immediately.

Let's be honest curry and beers with the lads, no doubt a bar or two maybe a club will be visited after the curry so you're bound to pick up a replacement.

No need to thank me.

And people wonder why the divorce rate is so high in this country...................

lol, they aren't married so your point is invalid

My Oh would come to family meal but i would tell him to go and meet up with his mates after. Even if it ment missing dessert to head off early. All you have to do is go for meal but in beginning say to the day, hi, im really sorry im going to have to leave after the meal I have another birthday to go to. I wanted to come here so im fitting both in, as to not offened anyone.
Say it like that, he will respect you for being honest and comprimising.

I bet its not the dad you will offend, i bet your GF has the problem with you going out ;)
Bet im right! lol

lie.

Go to the meal with her dad then get someone to call u at a set time with a pre-arranged 'emergency'.
Say sorry to the dad and goodbye to everybody else (always be polite), then off to see the boys.

Make sure u have a spare change of clothes in the boot and get changed into them before u see the boys.
The clothes u wear to Harvesters make sure u wear them when u go back home.

Final touch... give her flowers next time u see her and before she can get a word in tell her ur sorry u had to rush off like that and thank her for being so understanding.

Contrary to popular belief, women are not thick
Lying is a big no, no!

It works a charm as long as u compliment them. The trick is all in the 'thank u for being so understanding' part

Really? Would not work on me, I don't need compliments :p and not if the girl has an ounce of common sense or maturity. That said if that were the case, you would not need to lie and could do a really grown up and upfront thing, called talking and compromising

Maturity, She's already had a go at him that's why I suggested lying
Otherwise you're right, they should talk it out and compromise.

Lol, wife has just phoned me, asking if I want to go to dinner tonight at Cafe Belge, where they sell Belgium beers. "I'll drive so you can have the beers that you like". Sorted. My favourite, moules and frites with the Kwak beer. Who said divorce rates were high!!! lol

Looks like you have a great wife, like I have a great husband, not every one is that lucky though are they? My husband is driving Saturday as it's my sisters 25th and we are moving out of the area, so I can have a few beers, next time I will do the same, it's called looking out for each other!

its all cool for school, which is why this thread is funny cos the OP should be talking to his g/f not us......

PS, yeah my wife is great :-D
#32
Nice one! Well done - to you both

I gotta laugh at how much difference of opinion this thread caused - and it seems to be all calm at your place now - not the storm maybe we were expecting

She came home from work just after I posted to apologise but I made it worse by calling her a bully for trying to control me.

I don't suppose it helped with you being fired up with some of the comments on here!

I think it's natural to get worked up when things aren't going to plan - then you need a little breathing space, time to think, and then time to talk. Things normally come right.

Have a lovely time out with your mates! Don't ruin it by getting completely plastered ;-)
