Carley congrats on selling your car. It must be nice to have a trouble free sale. I have been on a road trip with a friend to buy a car. We went from London to Jarrow.
282 miles – about 4 hours 57 mins I just checked it on google maps

I sold a 1971 Alfa Romeo Spider on E-Bay to guy from Porto in Portugal, I pointed out that although the car was roadworthy; it was really for spares or repair as the gearbox/clutch/driveshaft was very noisy. He turned up to collect it with a Rover P5B towing a trailer and trailered it to Porto. Respect!

It was a 2002 Audi A4 Avant, 3.0 Quattro, not a classic car.

Maybe he thought it was a 1982 version :)

I guy from Austria drove over with a trailer and took a red Audi quattro Turbo 1982 back with him

was exactly like this one A+ condition too, apparently us English take better care of our cars and have less salt so they rust less

I had two blokes from Holland buy my Saab 900 Turbo Carlsson which was rare admittedly. They were going to go out in London if they didn't want to buy the car. Well that was their story anyway! They were going to convert it to left hand drive when they got back.

My brother had a 1993 Mercedes E280 which was picked up and towed back by a German. He said all the boy racersback in Germany had them so he was gonna break it for spares!

Atleast it's a quality car and it'll make that journey no problem. Could have been worse, you could have sold him an Alfa Romeo and it could have been towed back for the last 1, 500 miles!!:-D

UK second hand car prices are laughable compared with most of Europe, can be half or less. Still, hope that the cash isn't dodgy and you have understood any requirements for registering the car as exported?
