No, absolutely not, especially not for romantic reasons. Why would you ask that?
#2
Oh my goodness back with a bang!! I don't know what you did wrong by the way.

Are we talking about your present g/f here?
banned#3
not if i didnt find them attractive at all. If I can't get somewhere on my own, then it's not worth getting there.
#4
hell yeah, if she was s8 CEO'ing/10k a day, no doubt
#5
go out with or have sex with ? - yes to the first - no to the second

hell yeah

Who could be significantly more powerful than you????

if compatible, marry, ye

Huh, nope

what if you found them attractive also BUT you were aware of the fact that they could help you in your career. They are about 7 years older too.

That's pretty specific... lol, you must have someone in mind.!!

to deal with each issue separately... I don't see that the seven yr age gap is relevant so long as they're both adults.

If you find someone attractive and enjoy their company then certainly there may be romantic possibilities there... I dont think the fact that they have money/power within your career/studies should have any relevance to that... unless you already have some form of relationship that precludes any form of romantic attachment ( such as they are your teacher- that's a no no ).
#11
depends how long you'd have to go out with them for. If it was permanent no way, but a year or so I'd do it. If it was gonna set you up for life.

300k aint nothing.

haha I used a slang word and got suspended.

No this isn't my gf.

"Hypothetical Question"

Well don't do it again!!;-)

Oh right. The answer is no then - pointless and emotionally tiring.
You are already really well paid and will easily rise up the ranks with your ability and attributes.
I know you, you would feel awful just stringing someone along. Forget it.

I'm off to watch the telly now - don't even think about it!!

[COLOR=Red]Are you thinking of asking me out or something?

BTW, if you did ask me out I would say no as I don't go for men.

Would you go out with someone because they were significantly richer/powerful and could actively help your career?

Yes, I would. 100% definitely.
#17
bykergrove
Yes student/teacher is a no no.

I meant more someone that could influence your career but not like your boss or that you work under them. Just on the same floor.

well.. prolly not wise to mix work and pleasure..

but if you enjoyed their company and wanted to spend time with them, then I dont see why power/status/money should have any relevance to that . HtH xx

Plenty of people do it. The current Dir of Education where I live has get into her role by sleeping up the hierarchy. It's no coincidence that she was sleeping with the head of the council and got this post. Same as she'd been doing with smaller fish on her way up.

No doubt now she's there, the outgoing party leader is history.

I wonder who's next?:whistling:

Dude, don't do it.

Sure your boss may be powerful, and promise you a new pair of comfy shoes, but he would use you up and fire you like he did to his other tea boy. :-(

I always thought you'd always been on the dole. Still, it's good to know you're useful for something.

Apparently this added more spice to their relationship... I heard that after a hard days work he fancies some KFC.... that's what the police report said anyway.

Nothing like a bit of filth and fury! (apparently!)
#30
Are you single or not? That would be thrown into the moral dilemma as well (at which point I would say no).

Also, if she does improve your career, what would happen when the "relationship" ended? Would your new found success be cut short?

Sorry. No can do.

If you wanna be useful, there are plenty of threads you can do that to.

100% yes

Let's take the first issue out of the equation as there are more deeper issues with that point.

If the relationship ended there is a 99% chance it would end on amicable terms. So I don't think the end of the relationship would have negative rammifications.

Also, living/staying round this person's flat would mean you have a 10 minute walk along the river to work.

Well, if the first issue isn't an issue, then go for it. It's a dog eat dog world and it's not just women who can sleep their way up!

I couldn't tolerate going out with someone just because it would help my career, I'd have to fancy them in the first place.

I wouldn't care about the age difference if I liked the person - also age seems less significant as you get older. 7 years older when you are 20 seems huge - but by the time you are 30 or 40 it doesn't seem to matter so much!
