1. it sit's under your TV... not in your pocket
2. c'moon... i doubt a dude with a 50" plasma thinks much bout the environment
3. probably but that's so lame i can't believe it.

Could have sworn the ps3 slim was meant for your pocket, rather have more room under my tv.

some people were suprised at the low price for a new model and the wait made them more anxious mainly for those that want everything new out rather than waiting a few months for them to drop price

Could it also be that the 60gb one is now a few years old and people are thinking of getting shut while theirs are still working. If your 60gb is well used and breaks, it'll cost nearly as much to repair as buying a new slim with full warranty. The 60gb ones are still fetching over £200 without games, so that's what I would have thought.

If they don't use the backwards compatibility or feel they can get a premium for the 60gb selling to someone who wants BC.

You can't claim the 60gb is better made either until the slim has been out long enough to get some reliability figures. Generally the newer the hardware revision the more bugs have been ironed out.

Not many of the initial 60gb units are still alive...

If you have one, they get very good trade in, so get rid while it works....

I don't really know anyone who really wants a 3rd gen console to play old ps2 games....

Personally speaking I hated the look and the horrible dust-magnet that was the ps3 phat, couldnt wait to get rid of it for a slim and the slims are far more aesthetically pleasing, as well as being quieter andmore fuel efficient.

I didnt have a 60gb though and wouldnt mind backwards compat.

I still have my 60gb from launch, i would be very happy to keep it, but i very tempted to trade it in just incase anything does go wrong with it. I think i have only ever played 1 ps2 game on it anyway.

I agree with the comment about the ps3 slim. We really wont know how reliable it is for another year or two.

I believe you can play the ps2 games using some software and install them to hard drive on the 6 gig ps3 but its not official.

Actually this thread has got me thinking and i have decided to go for a slim, due to having a new warranty, as my mates 60gb packed in last night and my dads a couple of months ago. I can see the tops it would go for on ebay is around £200, but having to post it and fees would lower the price i actually get to around £150- £160.

Cex give £180 trade, so do gamestation match trade in prices on consoles as well as games?

that's the ps3 go you next week

*batteries not included

Batteries not included? LOOOL

I think it's because they don't use the other features and want a newer console as the old ones might not last for long?
