MK2 Escort (W)-My first car. unfortunatley Rolled down it Telegraph hill in Devon on a holiday- Right off
MK2 Escort- (T)- Scrapped and kept parts for next car ie engine.
MK1 Escort (L 1972 my fav)- Gorgeous car, but having 2 children forced sale as it was 2 door and was a bit unreliable
Renault Clio (V) - the worst one of the lot. Too small no power- sold to get next car.
VW Golf (P 96) Lovely little car, lots of extras including elec sunroof and windows.

Am not thinking of selling for the forseeable future but one day would like another Escort mk 1.

My current car is one that I always wanted, a Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDi 130BHP. I say always wanted as having somehing to safely transport my family in comfort is top of my list of priorities.Note the wheels on this car - they are genuine Ford wheels but I haven't seen a single other Galaxy on the road with these wheels ... and I've been looking for two years now!

However, once the kids (now 14, 12 & 11) have left home, I want one of these:

Nice, would it be cheaper to buy one that is already in the UK?
£12k for a nice example on autotrader

costed it up and cheaper to import a full done car rather than one sourced in the UK and then having to get parts

A 'D' reg ford fiesta paid £75 for it back in 2002. Failed its MoT had to pay £5 to metal merchant to take it off me.

A 'P' 1997 VW golf mark 3 1.4 paid £3,000 in 2002 still going strong 112,000 miles. Had 43k when i bought it off my sister love it to bits.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/johnmcl7/metro_small.jpg

The little Rover 1.1S, this one was top of the range boasting exotic features such a sunroof and digital tuner which was highend for a Metro at the time! It had rubbish brakes, no grip from the tyres and the heaters didn't work well but it never let me down and I liked it for getting me everywhere. It was getting destroyed by rust which combined with a blown head gasket sealed its fate in the scrapyard.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/johnmcl7/car1.jpg

I changed to diesel and went with an Octavia 1.9 GLX, a solid car all round although the spec wasn't great and the underpowered 90bhp engine eventually led me to sell it. It was written off a few months later.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v646/johnmcl7/toledo1.jpg

My current car, a Seat Toledo Sport 150 - it was an impulse buy but I've really enjoyed its performance whilst being cheap to run. Been thinking of replacing it recently with a 'silly' car (the Evo VIII is the leading candidate) or an Octavia VRs but can't help feel it's a massive waste of money especially as the Toledo is a challenge as it is to stay within speed limits.

http://johnmcl7.smugmug.com/photos/477393328_zda8e-M.jpg

My two wheeled transport, a Suzuki SV650S - haven't touched it in months and meaning to sell it as I don't like how vulnerable he bike is on unpredictable road conditions.
