Yeah because it's gonna kill everyone lol :-D

He worked out that to make a black hole, you need to compress 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 protons into the space of a billionth of a millionth of a millimetre. That number of protons would make up three times the population of Geneva.

:o

i dont get any of it...... looks likegeeks getting over excited by a big waste of time ( much like BG threads  )

To most people it probably will be of very little interest. Although some findings if made, which could still take months after today to see the results, for them to work patterns out, main emphasis seems to be on Higgs bosom, but could discover dark matter, new particles, if the big bang theory is correct, and if so what happened during it, and it could even help towards beating cancers and other diseases.

were upto full power now, collisions in about 5-7mins.

Even if there were devastating issues afterwards we may not realise until a couple of years when it starts to affect us. This as a dangerous idea, reverse engineer the big bang to get what created the big bang in the first place. This in turn could mean the big bang could start all over again and hugely dense matter would be created. This could unbalance the earth and sink to the core

Not only that we know very little about black holes. They say they would evaporate but we don't know this, because our knowledge on black holes is so small.

But it has been explained, as above as well, why black holes will not be created. OK, it could be wrong. Also they are not recreating the big bang, but the effects of the big bang (potentially) after a picosecond. To most people that is not a long time, but in terms of the big bang it is quite a while.

really ?? O .... well maybe its not just a waste of time then........ shows my ignorance....

What they might find. Very interesting.

It's actually due to the black hole they've just created.
Sucked everyone up apparently.
On it's way over here in 5, 4, 3, 2.... bye!

Here are the (real) pictures of the first collisions in ATLAS at 7 TeV

clicky

They're computer graphics.

I'm beginning to think this whole Hadron Collider is a scam based around some 15 years old kids ZX Spectrum!

I told you, a black hole, people being sucked in, blonde babes having their clothes ripped off, buildings on fire, death and maybe godzilla in the background!

In fact, something like this:

something like what we see on Richard Hammond's invisible worlds. ;-)

I loved the first episode of that, was truly amazing! The second episode was not as impressive, but still interesting.
