nah, just to sell you crap overpriced warranty that will never be honoured
i changed my phone number years ago, then disconnected sky box from phone line, to avoid the constant sky cold calls, even though i had requested on a few occassions i did not want any marketing calls or mail they ignored my requests, now peace and quiet.. and no scam calls about sky warranty, yes i did have a few.
If you've got Caller ID, make a note of the number and search for it in Google. You'll probably hit one or more of the "whocallsme" type websites.

To get you going, here's two reports of what looks like a couple of Sky scams

Some cordless phones will let you set up a bar on incoming numbers (My Panasonic one allows up to 30). If a barred number rings, all they hear is an "unobtainable" tone.

A slightly more expensive option is Truecall. It was posted here about 3 months ago. The latest price is a bit higher, so I reposted: http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/682931/truecall-the-nuisance-call-blocker
I take it none of you watch watchdog on the BBC
They have had this story running for the last 5 years or so.
