It looks like the account holder who sent the funds has said it is an unauthorised transaction and put in a dispute.
I have heard that Italy is the new Nigeria for scams, was it something you sold on eBay or gumtree or the likes?

If you have a contact number or whatever with DHL I would seriously consider trying to get your delivery stopped or put on hold until you have this sorted.

Speak to the bank first thing.

Was a macbook!
Just spoken to DHL and they're gonna try see if they can put a 'Stop and Cease Delivery' tag on the tracking number on the system.

She said if they can they'll charge a fee for returning, better than losing £700 odd.

Fingers crossed!! :(

Good idea, get that 'stop and cease delivery' issued asap as it looks like you have had that payment marked as unauthorised and refunded.
Did you sell it on eBay? Lots of sellers refuse to sell to people from Italy, if you google the words 'Italy scam ebay' you'll see lots of horror/scamming stories.
I hope that you get through to DHL in time to put that 'sacd' tag and it will also be worth contacting your bank first thing in the morning to just confirm what's going on.

I used to buy train tickets online from the Trenitalia (the national train company)website. Can't do it now though because VISA has decided that Italian websites are not secure. Also, if you check eBay, a number of sellers specify that they won't trade to Italy.

Hope you can resolve it with DHL

Italy are a no no for any transactions.

I know its too late to say that now but the Italians are worse than the scamming Nigerians by a mile!

I second that, just take a look at many sellers on ebay, they are now refusing to ship to Italy. May be the new crime venture for the mafia

international payments are sent by swift usually and these payments can be tracked and reversed from the senders end (used to work in bank sending international money) although the money says in dispute so itis possible that the money is being held by your bank on request from the sending bank or their own head office, the senders details may have flagged up something on their system. To refund a payment after the close of business the day it is sent usually a bankmust get your permission or at the very least call you and tell you that they will be doing it.

when you call your bank they may not be able to tell you much if the funds are being looked into for fraud reasons etc but if the transaction has just been reversed they should know why as a "swift message" will have followed the payment and it has to have reason codes etc on it.

The parcel has been stopped, and luckily it's still in the UK, or I'd have been stuffed!
Just had to pay £38 fees to have it returned though!!
A small price to pay, considering I could've lost £700!
It should be back in 24-48hours.]
