just because its spinning doesn't mean it needs to travel forward.

could be real, not doing fast but looks tricky - someone post me a bat (no need for personal delivery on my doorstep thanks) and ill try it!

If I had a free bat to give away I'd definitely be out on the street trying this......

it is impossible as centrifugal would send it forward and at that speed quite far

that doesnt make any sense
are you for real? you said centrifugal force would send it forward. He's saying not necessarily and giving you an example. How hard is that to understand?

It does, you said that because it was spinning it would go forwards, if you spin a penny it doesn't move - too much - from the point at which you spin it.

But yeah, it's fake surely

I would say it would fall down due to gravity much quicker tbh

disagree, much like a helicopter stays up it would have a similar effect spinning it at that speed.

Erm, spin the bottle? a bottle aint evenly weighted and it's entirely possible to spin that and have it stay in the same place. Believe it now?

I've got one but it has a split in the handle from a fast stop against a car door (cheap plastic crap), anyone know a good deal on a solid wood one? prefer junior size as its better in smaller spaces

Pretty sure a helicopter rotor spins an awful lot faster than in the gif, plus the arms are designed specifically to 'cut' through the air creating lift.

gravity would still have a weaker effect on the bat

Lol @ people in this thread.

No reason to point and say it's fake, he has full control of the spin, timing and balance of the movement.

So yeah, real.
#24
It genuine we used to do it with hammers where I used to work, it's not that hard.

horizontally? vertical spins of stuff is easy but horizontal ...goes against nature itself!

Not a bloke, but for all the doubting blokes, it's just a horizontal spin. That's what it used to be called in majorettes anyhow and is possible. You can even do horiztontal spins flat like that in front , or push them above your head whilst the baton spins and spin round and catch and under the legs.....
if you mean the spins where they hold it in the middle and spin those are not the same sort of thing as an object held away from its balance point.
If girls with and short skirts and big hair can do it then the magic is lost
