Has anyone got any similar stories?

Hopefully, they'll keep them to themselves, as that story blows.

I bought one from ebuyer DOA. It got sent back (after failing to turn up to collect). They ran out of stock. They gave me a refund (I think.... never actually checked!)

Wasn't impressed.

I've got a preemptive one; I bought a mixing desk from a major online muso equipment retailer who I won't name for obvious reasons, which came with a 5yr warranty. Terms of the 5yr warranty are that if the unit fails within the period, if it's not possible to issue a direct replacement, they will issue a same-spec alternative. The unit itself arrived faulty (although not so much that it renders it useless), and I bought it at half the usual price because it's end of line. Per the terms of our contract, I'm due something of a bargain when I can be bothered to arrange a return.

I had a duracell battery explode today in my keyboard. Didnt know what the loud pop was untill I saw the trickle on my desk. Anyway rang them up and there sending me £15 of vouchers to go and buy some more, which was very nice of them I thought :D The popped battery had an expiry date on of 2008 aswell. I forgot they went off.

ok here's another...

I had 2 LG monitors and one had a fault where it bled a greeny colour in the corners...

they didn't have stock to replace the exact same model (I used them on the same pc) so they gave me two higher spec monitors and let me keep the working original. (was worth £170)

ok thats threadworthy... get editing!

I've got a similar story with Microsoft of all people.

Bought a wireless mouse and the receiver dongle broke. It was under warranty so I phoned up to get a replacement dongle and they couldn't source one of the same model so sent out a replacement which was a mouse + keyboard set

Exciting times. Only other story is relating to insurance -- they replaced my Creative Zen (which I'd owned for nearly 3 years and cost £130 originally) for a £280 Comet gift card!! oO
