care to explain for those of us who arent on facebook?

Description:
This page is dedicated to covering and publicizing the pathetic and ridiculous service of 02 Insure.

For those unaware, 02 iPhone customers who wish to insure their handset, pay £15.00 per month for the privilege, on-top of a monthly tariff that can range anywhere from £30.00 to £60.00. If your claim is accepted, you will also have to pay an excess fee that can range from £50.00 to £100.00

Customers who have reported lost or stolen iPhone 3GS handsets over the past 2 months have been told their device is out of stock as the iPhone 3GS model has been discontinued.

Informed by 02 insure that 'there is nothing we can do', we are asked to wait patiently and informed that we will receive text updates in relation to stock (text updates arrive once or twice every two weeks).

02 Insure Customer Service takes at least a 50minutes wait to speak to a representative, who at times can be very unprofessional, unhelpful, rude and most concerning, clueless as to the situation with varying advice from different representatives.

Not only have loyal 02 customers been without a handset for up to two months, they have been forced to continue monthly tariff payments and insurance costs exceed £60.00 a month in cases

From observations on the following threads, those lucky enough to have received a replacement handset have stated the device is a refurbished model. For the rest of us, all we can do is wait.

Please share your cases with everyone on this page. 02 needs to speak up and solve this ridiculous service immediately.

Ohhh sorry Barky

Right

Basiclly there are two issues

1. They are selling insurance for £10 a month and saying that if you break/lose have your phone stolen you will get a replacement like for like. You phone up and report and they state they have no Iphone 3gs 16gb in stock and are awaiting stock and you will get text updates, they have no idea when the new stock will be comming in and cannot tell you i myself have been waiting 3 weeks some have been waiting months. I was 2023rd on the list awaiting a replacment phone.

2.

When they do finally send out the phones it should be a NEW phone but they are sending refurbs that don't work out!

Dont extend your home insurance to include your phone. Really silly way to do it as if you need to claim you will pay a larger excess and lose your no claims costing you a fortune for renewal. Much better to get it attached to a bank account as cheaper excess (30 quid on mine) and wont put up premiums. Also my account only cost £7.95.

Natwest, £12.95 a month

Covers 2 x iPhone 4's, car breakdown, worldwide travel insurance & a lot more !!

The people who aren't getting any should have at-least a big discount towards iphone 4. personally i wolud never take out a cover which cost £15 a month and excess £50-£100, you could buy another iphone by when your contract ends which is typically 24months that most people go for.

Obviously that depends entirely on the policy of the insurer. Some are cheaper than others.

Our contents is £20 a month which includes £1000 personal possessions out of the home, so netbooks cameras ipods phones etc are covered, on these and home entertainment it doesnt affect renewal prices either, we had a claim for £900 for a TV a couple of years ago and the premium dropped by 10% at renewal, it even extends to plants in the garden and a few other strange things too.

The £1000 is per person too not between us.

My god!! Sense posted on these forums. A great deal, me and the wife opened a bank account with these guys solely for this brilliant deal.

Claiming on your house insurance for a phone is idiotic.

I read somewhere about iphones that if they do not have your model then they have to, by law, give you the model they currently have. So an iphone 4

well that should be the case even for any product e.g i bought a trimmer from argos with ext warranty for 3 years, by end of 2nd year it broke and it was discontinued in the catalogue so they gave me a better expensive model. o2 again might offer i big sum of money for those who recycle there iphones which is the scheme they done previously to resole this situation
