02 number change

I have just gone onto 02 online 25 pay monthly contract and rung them up to ask them to keep my 02 PAYG number.

This number has now been changed over, I can receive and make calls and receive texts but can't yet send any texts out.

Does it need a bit longer before I can send a text message?

Anybody know if this will be sorted soon and just needs more time for the number and settings to changeover?

Thanks

Probably just need to change the settings on your phone from payg to pay monthly e.g message centre etc.

Try going on the o2 website, you should be able to download the settings as a text message. If you can't get anything on the web contact them and they can forward them to you.

Thanks for the link, I've already got those settings though but thanks.

Do I ring customer services 4445 and is that free?

Cheers

Not sure about that number tbh.

Try saynoto0870.com and you should get a direct number on there

02 have just given me this number for the SMS settings, +447802092035

Is this what number you have for the postpay sms settings?

The one I'm using is +447802000332. I'm on a similar rolling contract.

EDIT:http://www.o2.co.uk/services/messaging/textmessaging/textmessagedevicesettings they gave you the pay and go centre number.

That was my original one, stupid 02. Just read on the internet that being able to send texts is the last thing that goes through when changing number so may put that number back in and just sit tight.
