Does anyone know if any of the mobile companies still offer free calls to 0800 numbers on their PAYG tariffs? If not who's the cheapest?

Thanks

There are none - even on contract phones.

Only exception are the odd 0800 numbers to specified charities and CS etc. Probably not what you were thinking about though!!!

Thought so, who's the cheapest for 0800s then? I know Orange is 25ppm.

Dunno. Its gonna depend on the tarrif you are on. Not sure about PAYG - but its probably the same scenario for those also. (ie different PAYG tarrif options on offer)

There are numbers you can call on the mobile from VOIP companies, some of these numbers are now known about, but some aren't. Maybe you could phone one of these VOIP numbers, then the 0800 number. Might not be free, but it would be a hell of a lot cheaper. Feckin' Mobile operators, as money grabbing as those big oil companies.
