I worked as a fishmonger for two hours every weekday morning when doing my alevels. I was 17, horny, and stank of fish. Not a good combination.

My best job was working as a cycle courier for a summer at 18- riding 80 miles a day, pulling into offices with gorgeous female workers wearing revealing lycra and with a fit body on me. Now that was a good combination!

im disabled so i dont count

I know I'm a teacher so I don't do racism and also I'm a northerner so I don't do cocktails but what is this? Surely even if you couldn't use your fingers you could still count? Maybe it's because you were bad at maths in school? But even then, I'd expect you could at least count to ten. :?

Jeremy Clarkson once said that the worst job is a dentist, as you have to cope with crying kids and dirty holes everyday.
Richard Hammond's is when he once had to wake up every morning (6a.m) to pick up chicken poop.
James May? Dunno, maybe a Bacherlor :-D

I am not joking btw, I remember it from reading Clarkson's article on the Sun one time.

My worst job was workin for a music shop - not cos I hate music, but because the management were so clueless, and never gave us trainees (over the Xmas period) any proper training, so we all panicked and lost the company loads of money big time!
Best one was in a photolab where I got to look at everyone's photos ... the bizaare and rude ones were the best!

erm...I mean it was really quite good!

Seriously though, you must be a pretty hardy person. I was a bit too sensitive to enjoy it. I can't remember the name of the company I worked for but their head office was near Hangar Lane tube station. Not the same place, by chance?

I seem to recall Derek & Clive (aka Pete and Dud) reckoned it was something to do with scraping barnacles and Jayne Mansfield?

Field interviewers either last 2 days or carry on for years!
I work for Mori,so fortunately don't have to ask about fish fingers and teabags these days(though my previous company was more like that!)I do more social/financial type research really.

Thick skin and the cheek o' the devil is all that's required........but the job is not for everyone I have to concede.:)

Good on you. I might be doing it again soon. Finishing my PhD and not much prospect of work in my field. Time to grow some thick skin perhaps! In fact, I think I'd enjoy that type of job more today. (Giz a job!)

Linky for you Ipsos Mori.

With your quals though,it may be worth applying for head office vacancies rather than field interviewing(much warmer and better pay I should imagine!!)

If it's something to put you on though, field interviewing is very flexible and they are always looking to take on people. As you have past experience as well it should be no problem getting on the books so to speak.

Good luck in your studies and good luck if you go for it.:)

I know no-one will believe it, but counting Lugworms and other related fishing bait @ 50p per 100 when I had just turned a teen was probably about as low as I got!

Still, at least they didn't give me the abuse you get when cold calling!

I ring random people out of the phone book for six hours a day to ask them if they want to buy double glazing and all I get is told where to go every minute of those six hours. This has to be in my top 3 worst so far.

OMG That is a bad job! :w00t:

Wouldn't you have thought they would weigh them?

Surely they could have sold them per weight rather than per amount?
