YEA I KNOW HOLDING DOWN THE SHIFT KEY IS A PAIN

Go to somewhere like PC World and have a play around with Vista and see how you get on?

I think if you need to ask the question, you don't need to upgrade to Vista.

What's your system specs, if you have a powerful machine go for it, if you have a not quite so powerful i'd leave it.

I'm assuming decent graphics card? If so, then you should be OK, it down to personal choice, a lot of people complain, but i'm running it on an Athlon 2200 and 1.5GB of RAM, and haven't encountered any of the problems people complain about, and that's even using underpowered hardware!

You have a modern setup so dont worry.

FYI, I am running the Asus P5k (bottom of range) motherboard with 32bit Vista Ultimate OEM and MSI 8600GT silent and its fine
- although I am running 2x1GB and 2x512MB sticks of DDR2 6400 - I decided I didnt want the potential problems of 4GB under 32bit vista (although plenty of others run 2x2gb and have not reported problems)

I also had the dilemma about XP Pro or Vista and plumped for Vista as the drivers are now mature.

DO turn off UAC if you go down the vista route though....

To be honest I turned most of the pretty Vista graphic features. The only programs I have had issueds with are printer applications (like HP who cant just add drivers on their own) or pre year 2000 applications (like Access 97). Everything else works well for me. YMMV
