Limited or no connectivity means that your PC NIC is trying to get an address from the device it's connected to. The Xbox doesn't do this, so you need to set it manually.

On your PC, go into the NIC properties and edit the TCP/IP settings. If you're just wanting to transfer files from the PC to the Xbox, configure as follows:

PC
IP Address 192.168.10.1
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

Xbox (go into the settings on Evox)
IP Address 192.168.10.2
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

You won't need gateway or DNS for either.

You should now be able to FTP from the PC to the Xbox on 192.168.10.2.

Are you sure you don't need a crossover cable to achieve this with an original xbox?

Or if your are connected via a router just connect the xbox into the router and configure evox with an ip of something like 192.168.2.5
then enter that ip into your ftp client with username and password of xbox and your connected

Evox and unleash-x are different dashboards. He said he's using evox so let's not confuse the guy!

Raptor - this is a good site for help:

Yeah you do need a crossover cable unless you are going through a switch or a router with an inbuilt switch..

Straight through for a router

Crossover going direct to PC

I made that mistake in the past, luckily i got 5m cables off e-bay for about a fiver rather than the £30 odd that Currys want for the same thing, and people say e-bay is a rip off!!

You dont need a router, only a hub/switch.. in fact a 'router' won't work for this unless it has a built in ethernet switch..
