best or easiest?

Visual Studio if you want the best.

Simpler ones are Dreamweaver, or even easier is Frontpage.

You can do it all in notepad tbh (the coding side anyway) but Dreamweaver makes it a bit easier.

Check out W3 Schools if you want to look into doing all the code yourself.

NetObjects Fusion is a WYSIWYG editor, it of course produces bloated code however its dead easy to use, and in this age of fast internet connections the code is not as important anymore.

Its all drag and drop and loads of free templates too

The latest version is not free but some earlier versions are

How can you even mention those three in the same breath? Frontpage is defunct for a start, and was pretty awful in the first place. VS and Dreamweaver are professional tools that will set you back a fair few notes.

Rappy, I take it free and no/minimal coding is preferable? If so give http://www.kompozer.net/ a go.

Could you explain what you meant about it being 'the best'.

I mean you know rappycigs will not be making a asp.net site, and I can't think of any way in which Visual Studio could ever be the best for web design.

I'm not going down the usual route of 'why don't you use notepad' - its just I'm in the industry and beyond coding of .net web applications, I don't know of anyone who would use Visual Studio to design a website?

Vibeone, don't know whether it's just me but I find your blue text quite annoying to read (don't know why), do others think the same?
