I went into HMV yesterday and purchased some items. At the till i was offered a HMV PureCard for £3. You get 100 points for every £1 you spend. However he told me when you register your card on http://www.HMVPure.com you get a 1000 points bonus.

I was rather sceptical as i couldnt find any mention of the bonus points on the website however i have just had an e-mail saying the following

Thanks for joining purehmv. Your account is now active. We'll email again soon with tips on how to get the most out of purehmv. In the meantime, the 1,000 bonus points we promised are on their way to your account.

Thats not really £10 credit though, its as many points as you'd get if you spent a tenner - the equivalent of 20 nectar points or whatever?
are you sure a point equates to a penny?

cos in that sense, you're getting a £1 back for every £1 you spend....which doesnt make much sense for HMV..?
Its not credit in the sense of credit tho, its points towards reward items or vouchers, a £20 voucher costing you 40000 points.
No 100 points equates to a Penny. Or i think its equivilant purchase value on the HMVPure Shop.

Thanks for the input guys i'll change the post to represent what it is.
Looks like they are trying to scam with a ridiculous number of zeros!
Have I got this right , you buy a loyalty card for £3.00 register online and they add the equivalent of 10p to the card
the pure points can only be used online within the pure arena section of hmv.com, the points have no money value. Every penny you spend you are awarded 1 point. the items within the pure arena can range from badges to meeting celebs and going to movie premiers!

oh and to take part in the scheme you need a hmv.com account and must register your card to it!
as I understand I have about 30pounds or more on the card I wish to know how can it be used for cds or dvds
