I think Stevie Wonder could see that coming.

It's a shame he started slowing down a bit by showing off, if he didn't drop his pace abit, he would of possibly had 9.50. :-O
#5
give me what hes taking and ill run it in under 8 :p

congrats to Bolt regardless, good athlete !
#6
Pulling up like that was stupid. He could have created a time that will never be beaten. In a way, he blew it.

Give us what you seem to be taking and we could run it in under 8 :whistling:

why are you interested in it then if you think he is a cheat?
Doubt you could run a bath, let alone the 100 metres
#9
ROFL... the other guys at the interview looked stunned watching the big TV :-D

they got good a$$ whiping.... but it seems you have to sound like that guy in GTA4 to be in the 100M final :P

But it also leaves the door open for him to break it again = $$$$$$ - And he'll do it too!

+ if he broke the record too much, people might think something fishy is going on

I can run a bath, but it usually takes me about 4.3 minutes, 4.1 if the water pressure is good.

Yes, he could have done it in 3.67 seconds but there would have been serious questions asked afterwards, so he slowed it down to a canter.

If he doesn't get injured. It's a ballsy call if that was his plan
#18
Reminds me of that clip from 'The Incredibles' at the end lol

He disn't slow down as much, just turned and ran the last 10 metres sideways, whilst slapping his chest in salute!

Rubbish event anyway. I'd much prefer a gold in a blue ribbon event like Archery.

What are ya talkin' about?! Didn't you notice he was running backwards?

Agreed, it would have been, but I don't think it was. He said afterwards that records were far from his mind - he was just focussed on winning. But on reflection he'll probably not regret his decision. The fact that he did slow down will just add to his mythical status (+ that also = $$$$!)

omg you didnt have to be nostradamus......... :?

Yes but he has the 200m still to come. Michael Johnson's superhuman 19.32secs world record is under threat. I personally do not think Usain will beat that record but he will be close (sub 19.50secs)
#26
sad how a third world country (Jamaica) totally dominate the biggest event in the olympics and all I can see are you peeps slagging off the event...
bet if it was GB I would be reading congrats all round...
well done you lot...

:? Nobody's slagging it off - we are having a bit of fun because it was so amazing! Hey, respect is due to the man, and given

Athletes get huge bonuses for breaking world records. That's why you don't see Yelena Isinbayeva breaking the world record more than once per meeting.

Not quite. I liked the idea of that when we were undisputed Londons top team.

But since Spurs were the only London team to win a trophy, I guess those times have returned.
