First deal so go easy people.

Seems Orange are now offering a decent £140 cashback via Quidco:

"for Pay Monthly contract phone connections, new customers only (per transaction, not per phone basis)* "

Not sure if it's always been like this but it was the headline offer for the most recent Quidco email (which was just received).

I'm currently after a Blackberry Bold 9700. It seems they're going for around £250 on ebay, so by the time you take the cost of phone and cashback out of rental, can get a Dolphin deal for around £10.

Calculation 22.50 x 24 = £540
Plus cost of phone £100 = £640
Minus Quidco £140 = £500
Divided by 24 = £20.83 per month

I would have paid £250 for a phone off ebay = £250/24 = £10.41
Therefore total cost of contract £10.42 per month!

Hope that helps someone, at least I've convinced myself it's a good deal.

Obviously hoping Quidco tracks, but if not, have 7 days cooling off period as long as you don't open phone.

Thanks for the heads up Donna. Seems like a good deal when put like that and will definitely help prospective buyers :)

Quidco offers are not a deal and I dont think allowed, as payment is not guaranteed. I think they have to be posted in Misc.

Quidco are not as reliable as they used to be..
i have few purchases tacked but not paid. have been waiting for 4-5 months now.
submitting queries does not really help..... so don't bank on quidco cashback that is my advice...

Beware Orange/Quidco are very slow processing these - have been waiting 12 months for my £150!

it works out about the same if u are assuming the contract is 20.83 per month and to simply buy the phone wud be 10.42 u have to add the calls and internet etc on which is at least 10 or 15 pounds a month depending on package = 20 - 25 per month. U also need to factor in insurance which is less easily available without a contract

I always use Topcashback now and find them much more reliable and generally pay up quicker.

Also been waiting over 1 year for a payment and disgusted that Quidco are promoting this shower and sending me emails. First told me that the company responsible for payments went bust and the latest excuse is that there are unfortunate delays- but only for a minority of customers. Absolute joke. Maybe I should join TCB instead!

Me too, I'm afraid. Quidco's reputation for paying out these days is pretty tarnished. Problems reported all over the place - MSE has some very interesting posts.

The smart money's on Topcashback now - much more reliable than Quidco, I've found, and no £5 pa charge.

This might have been a good deal, but given the risk (possibly high) of not getting the cashback from Quidco, it's not worth chancing it. Thanks for pointing it out, though.

It's always excluding iPhone on all offers lol.
