First ever live advert on British TV tonight
Television adverts are about to become considerably more exciting with the advent of Britains first ever live TV ad tonight. During the first break of the mysteriously compelling reality cookery programme Come Dine With Me on Channel 4 at 8.10pm, a group of skydivers will have three minutes and twenty seconds to spell out the word Honda as part of the car companys new advertising campaign mantra: Difficult is worth doing. The Guardian reports that the stunt, involving 45 skydivers creating shapes over the Mojave desert, is to generate publicity for the Honda Accord, although whether the viewers realise what the ad is for depends on how successful it is. Honda hopes that the rain in Spain will refrain from falling on the plain as the team practices. Said Ian Armstrong, Hondas manager of customer communications: There will be no time delay and no CGI. If it works, people will know who its for. If it doesnt, they wont.
