I got my update this morning, and it is sucking the life out of the battery, and Picassa does not work...anyone got any recommendations to get the Desire HD working better please?
#2
No updates for me, mine is t-mobile 'branded' though, so it will be ages

Do you have to back the phone up before updates or will it not delete anything? Also roughly how long does it take?
#4
The upgrade did not delete anything, and took about 5 mins to download and install. I did not need to back the phone up at all. All sms messages/pics/contacts etc stayed on the phone.

Thats my Galaxy S updated! :)

do you know if the normal desire is getting it at the same time?

Just checked mine and the answer's no, but it is a T Mobile branded one. Might be worth checking if you've got a notmessedupbyyourcarrier version though.

I can confirm that nothing has been deleted.

I just wasn't bothered to backup as one would probably be. So if you feel you need to backup still do it just in case... unless you're like me.

Congrats!

As for the battery issue, I've noticed a nice improvement. But saying that I had an extra battery come in through the post just as I was receiving my update. I got this battery from 'ecell' on ebay. They're saying they have developed same size battery but with 1930mAh.

Before, I couldn't even get through a whole day with this phone... I'd say about a quarter of a day to half a day. Unless I didn't use it at all in which case maybe a whole day ish from morning to evening.

So I don't know if it's the update and the new battery or just one of them but I've managed to get 15 hours of moderate to high use on my first day of update and changing battery.

No update yet for the P1010 Galaxy tab. Cant be bothered to check for a voda Galaxy S as they text to say when ready.

Hopefully soon though.

Why are people thinking other companies will get it the same day HTC release it, makes no sense, especially when 2.3 has been out for quite a while anyway.

Yeh... That's what I was thinking? But I guess no harm in checking.
