Get a happy meal, it's cheaper and it has the present aspect covered also.

.. or do what we do, go to the local pizza shop on Christmas Day!

Honestly, its great, means Christmas Day can be spent with the kids playing with toys, no washing up to do either and no making kids come and sit at the table and eat veg. Have been doing this for a couple of years now and it works really well for us.

Yes, it's the meat that costs!
A free range turkey is very pricey - I haven't decided what i'm going to do this year. I don't like to buy the cheaper frozen ones as they are generally reared in horrid conditions but they are mightily cheaper.

clicky to article

We used to get it from our local butchers but wasn't working out worth it in the end. Also found loads of waste with a full bird so get M&S joints, get a turkey and a gammon usually.

Good advice dcx.
I have got a beef joint from the Morrisons offer on now. It's in the freezer. I might just get a chunk of pork as well and forget about the turkey for this year.

Wow!! Huge ovens :D No need to cook again for about 2 weeks after that lot.

Lasagne can be made with turkey. ;)
