Applying for grad jobs (well, only applied for 2, going to write 2 more for this week... actually I was going to do that tonight... sugars).

It ain't easy. Getting into an interview is the hard part.

The police that I have applied to have 60 vacancies.....over 200,000 people applied to them in the 1st 2 days (was open 3 hours per night) lol :whistling:

apparently the marketing place is doing really well, mass recruiting as in a recession marketing is a huge area (companies failing, need more customers, need marketing etc)

I just want a job for now, and want to get into the police lol........dont want much :p thanks chess :)

I'll join the club for this thread... I graduated in July 09 and still haven't been able to secure a job, best I've managed is a second stage interview with one company and an assessment centre at two others. I've been using on-line websites such as Monster and Jobsite just to really get some exposure to the agencies who are using them but a friend recently told me to look at the Graduate Talent Pool too as they offer temporary work. I'm avoiding grad schemes now as the competition is seriously high and long proceeded.

It's slowly starting to pick up again as I've had a few agencies contact me after seeing my cv on there wanting to put me forward for a job etc but I've not had any news on them yet. It doesn't make it easy for me particularly as my degree is a BSc (Hons) Industrial Product design so I'm looking at design engineering work or something CAD related but the majority of vacancies I'm finding want MechEng or more experience rather then an industrial placement.

Keep with it though everyone, things will pick up!

good luck tiger, hope it goes well and I know its expensive - especially when companies won't pay travel costs but it will be worth it if you get the job!
