2 mice on the same computer at the same time?

Anyone know if this is possible? What I'm looking for is to be able to connect 2 mice at the same time and to be able to make use of them for different things. ie one to control movement and one to control aiming in a shooting game.

Anyone know if this is possible or have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Its possible to have as many mice as you like connected to a pc. They will only do one thing though. There might be software to change what one of them does, but I havent seen anything.

Well if you put two in at once it'll probably just control the mouse with both. I've used a mouse and a wireless trackball at the same time for example, but they all control the cursor.

I'm looking to be able to plug a 2nd mouse in and use it seperately as a seperate game controller. Kinda like a joystick or a steering wheel is seperate to the cursor/aiming in computer games/

I have a Gyration mouse and a cabled mouse running on a PC, they both function the same though, not sure if you can split the function of 2 standard mice.....

THat's exactly it mate, I need some software to distinguish between the two. If anyone sees anything I'd be interested.

Other than that I may have to look at a joystick or similar. Any ideas?

Yes mate, that's the sort of thing. Need to split them or find an alternative way of inputting them!

Yeah u can have any number of mice connected at the same time, I have 2 usb mice in mine.
One wireless and one wired. Not sure how it would work trying to set them to do differnt things tho.

do you not get on with the WASD setup?
maybe try changing the controls the arrow keys or somthing easier?

If you could set this up and get it working, I'd love to watch you trying to control it! I'm pretty sure it would be hard work.

I'm halfway there!

I've got teamplayer:

http://www.wunderworks.com/download-teamplayer/

Which has allowed me to have two seperate cursors in windows with 2 seperate mice working at the same time.

But I've tried it on Battlefield Heroes and it just sees them as the same mouse still.

Any ideas?

Could someone try it out with some of their games and see if they can get any better.

THanks!
