Hi I'm looking to book a couple of days away this weekend, don't mind caravan, apartment, hotel etc

Can anyone offer/recommend anywhere thats reasonable and available?

It's for 2 adults and 2 children boys (6+7) so something/somewhere that would interest them would be great!

Tried Centre Parcs, Butlins, Pontins and a few other Parcs to no avail!

you could join the YHA, I had brilliant experiences when I ued them in this country and the USA, we went to Snowdonia once and were given a family room, took our little girl had a great time and so cheap
Its a different experience for the children and you used to be given a 'chore' to do every morning and they are usually in very beautiful places

I don't know if I would be comfortable with that, I would worry that the other people staying are youngsters and it may be a bit noisy in the evenings! Maybe a good idea for a weekend without the kids though :)

we went down to sout west during easter break. stayed at premier inn with our two boys...stayed at liskeard which is quite a new one so was fab. free breky for kids as long as one of adults gets a full brekky...and from there went to eden project one day (dont bother its crap) and newquay beach next day...

I think you may have the wrong idea about Youth Hostels. Thet are not awash with noisy youths running riot! They are ideal for all esp young people and families such as yourselves. You should give it a try sometime but I think it would probably be too late to book a family room at this late stage for this coming (bank hol) weekend anyway.

Sounds lovely, it's a bit of a long drive for us to go there though, especially just for a couple of days. I looked at booking a premier/travel inn but don't seem to be many family rooms available, looked at Eastbourne, Brighton. Have seen a couple of cottages in Norfolk on ebay and have mailed a couple of sellers to see if they would rent them for just the 2 nights, thought they might if they didn't have a better offer!
