internet banking shows 2 transactions that i havent a clue what theyre for,one for £14.99 and another for just £1.00 both taken by a Webworks Cambridge

after looking up webworks it seems to be a webpage design company which i certainly have not used, the amounts were taken from my normal debit account will the bank refund me if i didnt make the payments?

how did they take the money? Cheque or DD?

Of course the bank will refund if fraudulent / erroneous. Check online to see if they have set up a DD.

check your emails around the date of the debit. I always store my internet purchase invoices in their own folder.

or just check play.com order history

There have been a few threads about this, its play.com. Not sure why they have changed their name, but would of confused me if I hadnt seen the other boards.

Dont worry :)

i got an email from Play a couple of months ago confirming my order for a mobile phone for £50, this i did not order i rang them up and they confirmed my account had been hacked!

a couple of weeks later an order was placed for a £200 camcorder at dvd.co.uk again i noticed this by reciving a confirmation email. luckliy on this one i got it cancelled before went out my account.

With play i had to ring the bank and they contacted Play.com eventually i got my money back.

Just check your account over the next couple of weeks to make sure nothing else comes out, i had not ordered from these sites for over two years.

I guess they have signed up a co-partner who advertise under the play.com banner

Yep, it's play.com - confusing as hell though on this months statement I have a transaction for play.com but another for Webworks Cambridge, this confirms their mistake:

http://www.cambridgewebworks.com/
