My 21 week old Siberian Husky.. "Kira" "k-ear-ra" ** UPDATE with VIDEO**

Have just purchased a lovely 10 week old female pup, pictures in first post, most people say they need a special name..

Any suggestions would be really appreciated,

I will take some better pictures in the day light with our actual camera, but these are done for now.

I used "preloved.co.uk" from a reccomendation by a friend, someone in my earlier post also mentioned that site too.

Mum and dad were there, dad was a BIG boy, mum was just lovely, really seemed a shame to take her away from her brothers and sisters, and silly ol me blubbered a little and thanked mum lots for letting us have her pup..

ended up spending £500, and travelled about an hour each way, but it was well worth it.

04.05.2011 -

She has been a very good girl, no horror stories to tell, which is quite weird as all I keep being told about is bad things husky's have done..

anyway, here is a video, taken today of a walk in the park.. i will add more pictures soon

You want a one (or few) syllable name that means you can call her off attacking somebody quickly; a name that is not a mouthful to get out due to the arrangement of letters derived from a word in a foreign language.

You also want a name that you don't mind shouting at 3am when she needs to go out in the garden whilst "house-training" & one you do not feel embarrassed relaying to your local Veterinary Surgery when you book her in for her first visit :)

From the many dogs I have owned, their temperaments & character traits in the first few days usually dictate what would be a good name, but it is important to decide on something soon to keep repeating to her so she learns it quickly.

That said, the animals I have brought home from various dog rescue centres adjust to their new name relatively quickly anyway; but I expect you will want to get a collar, & a name tag almost immediately so picking a name is probably a priority.

She looks like a winner. Please keep the thread updated with more photographs as she grows if you do not mind.

Thanks for sharing.

When we got our Dorkie last year we spent about a week choosing a name.

We didn't want anything stupid for calling her in the park or when walking her.

We settled on Florence (Flo we call her).

Just think that you may need to shout it out at a park or whatever so be carefull what you choose.
