£250 to park at work

We have a failing car industry in which the government has a vested interest, so what do they do, offer a scrap allowance of £2000 for vehicles of a certain age to encourage us to buy new cars thus stimulating the car industry ...... then ..... and this is brilliant ...... they propose a parking fee of £250 per year to be able to park your shiny new car at work in order to encourage us to use public transport.

You got a problem with that?

On the basis you work 5 days a week for 52 weeks of the year, it works out under a pound a day.

Or if you work 48, 5 day weeks, just over a quid.

Wouldn't complain myself!

No! I thinks its brilliant.
Because my car does not fall within the guidelines and where I work is not on a bus route the government has found another way of removing money from me ... probably to make up for all the expenses they cannot now claim.:x

I work for the NHS, Cisco Network Specialist, I do on-call and have to travel to 110 sites on an operational basis, so as I'm contracted to drive to work I can claim the expenses that incurs as I'm not allowed to use public transport in the support of patient care.
