Alongside a large number of people, I went for the three samsung S3 deal.

Been happy until now.

Logged into my MY3 account only to find £9.41 of charges:
http://i45.tinypic.com/zvvtq0.png

All I have done is call mobiles/landlines, text and browse the internet.

I do not obviously want to pay for this, I have never ever occurred any additional charges on any other contract I've had!

Anyone know where I stand with 3? / Chances if I call them up and say I have no idea how this has happened that they will clear the balance.

Thanks

Hilarious, please stop begging for likes

Is this for part of the month maybe?
#4
Could it be a part charge for line rental with entering a new month so may have part billed you?
Any mention in the description what the charges relate to

I cannot find the breakdown anywhere.. I possibly cannot understand how I have occurred additional costs.

It just says "We're currently drafting your first bill"...

Another explanation might be the first bill is usually pro rata and your minutes+text+data allowance might be pro rata as well. Lets put it this way: you bought a phone on the 28th, your billing cycle starts (lets say) from 1st day of the next month therefore if your plan includes 100 mins a month then until 1st of next month you'll be able to use only 3 days worth of your minutes for free (100/31)x3=9.7mins. If you talked more than that you will have to pay for minutes outside your allowance. I'm always careful when I get the new plan especially with a low monthly allowance cause if the first bill is pro rata you may go outside your allowance within no time.
If that's the case you can't do much.

i vaguely recall I had a similar charge go through on my 3. its part month related, the shop warned me to expect it though
#8
the monthly charges wont show up in that section..

its for, as they say, calls, texts, downloads or euro internet pass..

things don't just get added, you have used something, and no they wot remove it.

go to the bills page and it'll tell you what the charges are for

just a though..in your sms settings are delivery reports checked?

three charge 1p for a delivery report, and these charges will show up in that section.

Have you sent 900 odd texts?

three doesn't work like that, if you are outside of the billing period, that part of the allowance is added to your first months allowance, ie you get your 500 minutes and the pro rata amount all added and has to last for the full billing period of a month and a few days

just call them up and ask them what the charge is? its free from your phone
#12
Have you used the phone for tethering? Unless you have the one plan then you'll be charged.
Did you maybe text a charity donation and forget about it?
As already advised dial 333 from your phone and ask.
#13
The first bill will be higher, it says before you buy the phones.

when you find out let us know cheers

don't forget 3 is the only network that allow you to cap your bill. you can set a credit limit of zero pounds, them you will never pay more than your monthly payment.
No premium calls or texts will go through. give them a call to set this up!

It is probably non standard calls. 0870 0845 0800 etc? maybe?

Thanks for all of your suggestions but I don't think its any of them.

I'll call them up today and see what they say...

I haven't called any other numbers apart from mobile numbers.

..and I can get it capped? I had it on tesco mobile and it is very good...

When I changed pay monthly contract with 3 I had a part month charge but under additional charges I had £1.99 which I was told, when I called them, was the delivery charge for the new phone but as they had failed to tell me they removed it without much hassle..

They are usually quite helpful when I have called them so the easiest way to find out is going to be just dropping them a call.
#21
Called them up... seem helpful.

They said I have signed up to some 8088 (something like that number) which is costing me. Even though this is something that I have not requested.

I have supposedly received:
3 text messages at 83p per text
and
6 text messages at £1.25 per text.
Totalling £9.99

Even though I haven't signed up to anything or received any text messages.

She has forwarded me onto the service provider of these and I'm currently on hold.

---

She has also capped my contract which is very helpful!

3's customer service is very good! I'm glad I switched from Orange as theirs was absolutely shocking

Good luck with that!

I had something similar for some game company on a Tmobile account which was never even used. They told me they would refund and ensure I had no further charges. I believed a mobile CS. - a foolish mistake. Not only had he not cancelled, they appeared on the bill again despite those assurances.

They really should be taking these people to task, though I expect they are just grateful for their cut in the scam.

Been onto 3 for a little while now. Very helpful phone base.

She called the company up (I could hear her whilst on the phone to them which was pretty cool)

She cancelled my number from their phone number... however when trying to reach their customer services it says "All our phone lines are currently busy please call back at another time!"

Seems like a massive scam to me.

I haven't signed up to anything, I haven't received any text messages yet I am being billed for this!
What a joke.

Maybe your number has been recycled and the company billing you has had it froma previous user.
I believe all mobile companies eventually recycle numbers, hopefully I'm wrong though.
