i was selling this iphone on ebay which is locked to 3 network. one of the member msg me saying this :
How can it be locked to the three network? they dont do the iphone on three

i replied :

yes they do.. i received this as an upgrade.

he/she replied:
well i've worked for three for 5 years now, they do not sell iphones.

i replied :

why dont u call them up n ask

he/she replied:
i know they dont

and i replied:
why dont u buy n test this out.

i havent got any reply from him and now im confuse... do they really dont do iphone? (like anymore?)

Oh dear. lol

3 have NEVER had the Iphone.

Three offer IPhones to high retention customers.

I'd heard this too.

They offer iPhone's to people with high bills who threaten to leave because they want one.

I doubt it'd be locked to 3 though, more likely they have to buy it SIM free and take the hit.

Have you actually tried an alternative SIM card in it to see if it is actually locked?

You're not getting confused with 3G, are you?

"3" the network and an iPhone 3G are completely different things..

As 3 do not have the rights to the iphone surely they are legaly not allowed to lock it, best to find out

3 do sell Iphones to only to special and valued customers.

Wont be locked to 3, dont think

Why not just ring them and ask them if it can only be used with their sim? What you could say somethng along the lines that that you are going abroad and can you use a foreign sim in the phone, or can you use your 02/tmoby sim in the phone when your credit runs out. If you use the going abroad query, make sure you say you are going somewhere like Outer Mongolia or they may well say they have a partner there!

I think all the phone companies offer iphones on the lowdown, T-mobile certainly do.
Another thing, why would a 3 employee be interested in buying a 3 iphone from anyone. Surely they get an employee discount. Tell him/her to Google '3 iphone' and the answer is there.

lol is that a trick question ,open it and find out you can still sell it opened ,just put to check contents put another sim then u know if its unlocked it will sell for more

im scared if im tempted to keep it :whistling:

having lil ones around , my phone never lasted for months, all the gravity impact tried by them....

Note - If you open it and decide to sell, you will lose at least £40-£50 on the sale. 'Brand new opened and unused' always feels risky. Buyers buy but not at the same price as unopened.

Total rubbish, if the phone is mint and opened merely to check all contents have arrived and are satisfactory, it will reach a top price. More so in most cases. Buyers like to see a pic of not just the box, but the pristine phone inside, for such high value goods, it will attract more attention and more interest, if you can show you actually have the phone.

Log on to eBay and look for yourself. You may find that it is not "total rubbish". I sold my Xmas 02 iphone which I opened to see if I could use my tmobile sim on (which I couldn't) and I had so many questions asking why I had opened and whether I had had used it. If you are buying from a seller with c.100% feedback who has used ebay consistently for sales why would you need to see the physical phone, hence phrases "brand new unopened" "brand new opened but unused". Personally, I would buy an unopened phone as there are no surprises (eg "battery does not look new" or "condition was not as stated"). DYOR. Quite frankly it's no different from a car, take it out of the showroom and it becomes second hand.

you can always prove with a receipt how old an item is, and if its still got the original stickers on it. There is no way it will lose that much value, maybe £10-20 nothing more
#16
I've experienced both cases where sometimes you have an unopened item and the bid goes high and it's probably cus it's unopened. However, sometimes I've taken the item out and taken some nice pics and I think cus of the quality of pics and perhaps cus the buyer can see the item the bid goes high too.

Personally I like to have things unopened if possible cus it's just a nice feeling to have an item untouched . But that's just me.

3 do iphones, but only via CS. Think they're only 3g, not 3gs.

I'll give you tree fiddy
