Is there a significant difference?

And there is a surround sound system on Pixmania I would love to buy, but there are really bipolar reviews about the site, can I trust it?

Thanks in advance

Well there is always big discussions about watt power output. Reputable hifi makers use RMS at 8 ohms at 10% distortion. Many others use PMPO which give a figure about 4 times as high as RMS for the same output levels. Also with surround sound systems look at the watt ratio between the sub and the satellites. Big watt subs with low watt satellites often results in poor midrange performance.

As for pixmania, bought a camera delivered fine and its not broken so not had to deal with returns which seems to be the problem. Also a dishwasher which was delivered from and supplied by my local currys.

Well I would say save up and get an amp/speaker package but thats not always for everyone. Looking at whats available at the price there is slim pickings and ones at that price dont have any optical inputs.
So going on that I would if you can stretch to £200 I would take a look at the LG HT503.
Its available from richer sounds. Give them a bell and go have a listen.
I cant find a full review of this system but the LG HT range always do well in reviews for there performance for the price.

Hope that helps.

What about this Panasonic SC-PT170EB-K 5.1 DVD Home Cinema System, £149.99 at Amazon, I've no experience with it so have a google for some reviews and see what you think.

It has an optical input, upscales upto 1080p, plays DivX from disc and USB

The only downside I can find is I can find no info on whether it's region locked or not
