Hi can anyone help. I've got a peugeot 307cc and the roof goes up and down but it doesn't complete the sequence anymore it used to finish by putting the windows up when the roof had been lowered or put back into position. Now it does not do this and i constantly have the error message of BOOT MECHANISM NOT LOCKED! I am stuck now as to what to do when i rang the garage all they could say was bring it in but if its the roof your talking big bucks!!! it works ok just doesn't finalise the sequence, any help appreciated.

You need to take it to a mechanic, could be several things. The switch - the motor that operates the roof - or the ecu ( i think)

Please check you dont have something in the boot in the way of the closing mechanism, might save you a bundle.

Try a more specific forum if you haven't already.

I have identified the problem. Peugeot

Tip from a mechanic friend - you need to find the fuse that operates in that system, take it out, re-insert it. This resets the system.

faulty microswitches

is it an early car? 2004 - 2007?

Hi,

Just to let you know I have run into exactly the same problem with my Peugeot 307cc.

The Boot Opens/Closes fine but the final step before closing/opening all the windows fails leaving the display "Boot mechanism not locked" and a beep every 3 mins from the dash.

I don't think it's anything serious, just feels like it's got itself in a mess with windows open etc. so I'll try removing the fuse as suggested and see what happens.

If you have any updates please let me know, and I'll also let you know how it goes once I've reset the fuse :-)

Sure.

I'm responding more for those people who search google for "307 cc boot mechanism" and end up here like I did :-)

Point taken though.

I've had the "Boot Mechanism Not Locked" message on my 307CC, after getting a roof malfunction.
After taking it to my local (non-Peugeot) garage, they traced it to the latch mechanism which detects when the boot lid has shut correctly.

It turned out that a foreign object had got stuck in the latch and bent one of the pins when the roof tried to close. They cleaned out and re-aligned the latches and no it works fine.

Damn, I wish you had said this 3 years ago :|

I have the same problem with my 307cc... the roof seems to work fine but I get an error on the dash saying 'roof manoeuvre not complete' and an annoying beep. Any help please?
