Hey,

I'm off to Spain! I have a 3 Mobile USB Modem, and my Nokia N95 on Orange.

Is there any way I can get reasonably priced internet access whilst I'm abroad on 3 or Orange or somewhere else?

Emasu is right I think.

£9.99 for 24 hours (50mb) in selected countries, spain is a selected country (so he says)

but other countries = £4.99/mb. Scandelous!

Was going to ask this question actually. I'm going to France for a few weeks and internet for a couple of odd days would be great. Don't think we can get wifi where we're staying.

So my best option is Vodafone £10 a day? So if I did 3 odd days it would be £30?

Is this with a normal PAYG sim?

Think it's the contracts only..

But it's possible.

Give them a ring maybe?

Internet café would be cheapest or should be wifi/internet at the hotel?

Not staying in a hotel, got a villa but I doubt it's got internet. Will try to find somewhere local, Mcdonalds don't do free internet out there do they?
#19
They did have free wifi in the McDonalds in Nice. Not sure about Spain though.

Thanks, I'm going to France if it makes any difference?
#22
I'm guessing it will have free wifi then... although it could depend on

a) if it is in a busy resort/town
b) if it is one of the refurbished green ones.

Look for Mcdonalds with an @ symbol that looks like an M.

Looks like there's one close to me, hopfully can get the signal in the car as the battery won't last long.

Go to a phone shop when you are out there and buy a YoIGo pay as you go sim card. You'll pay max about 1.3 euros per day for unlimited data. So it's about £1 a day. The sim costs may be 15 euros and has 10 euros credit I think.

You may also want to check your 3g modem is unlocked.

It's what I intend on using. :) Hope you have a good trip.

P.S. You can get them on ebay too I think.
