transmitters on the iphone are pants because of the interference you get when the signal changes, unless you put it in airplane mode which defeats the point of having a phone.

I can't find a decent system that will alloow you to control the iphone from the stereo and see the track name etc which seems odd given it's the most popular music device of the last decade.

Even the USB connector in the new VWs don't support the iphone you need to use the AUX input which sucks.

Transmitters simply work by tuning in to an unused radio singal say FM 106.4 and setting the transmitter to output on that level, you can still use the radio if you put the signal to 97.7 you will get Radio 1

Ideally you want some form of input into the CD changer plug on the stereo (depending on age of car / stereo etc) but this does mean no CD changer if you have one and again it won't display the name of the track.

Basically I don't think there is a fully intergrated option, not sure why they can't just build an ipod dock into new cars and have it read it like itunes does, really can't be that expensive / difficult given the touch screens they put in everything these days.

Or you could just buy a new top of the range car with intergration system built in

Failing everything you could get a micro computer and 7" touch screen put in you car and just run itunes directly.
